Honeypot Montessori, Incorporated Board of Directors: Fundraising Chair Description

 

The Fundraising Chair will be critical in advancing Honeypot Montessori’s mission by developing and implementing effective fundraising strategies. This position is responsible for cultivating relationships with donors, overseeing fundraising initiatives, and ensuring the financial sustainability of the organization in partnership with our Board Treasurer and with the support of the entire Board and Honeypot school team.

The Honeypot Montessori Board of Directors offers advice and guidance to make decisions that are in keeping with our mission and vision and that are in our best interest. Our board also set strategies and structure and perform volunteer tasks to propel Honeypot forward in our work. 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to support the financial needs of Honeypot Montessori.

  • Cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations to secure financial support.

  • Identify and research potential funding sources and grant opportunities. 

  • Prepare compelling grant proposals, funding requests, and sponsorship packages. 

  • Collaborate with the Honeypot school team and board members to develop and implement fundraising campaigns and events. 

  • Establish and maintain a donor management system to track and acknowledge donations effectively. 

  • Provide regular reports on fundraising progress, donor engagement, and financial projections to the board. 

  • Build positive relationships with key stakeholders and community partners to enhance fundraising opportunities. 

  • Stay updated on fundraising best practices, trends, and regulations in the nonprofit sector. 

  • Can commit to 5-7 hours per week towards fundraising responsibilities.

  • Can commit to one evening a month for scheduled board meetings. 

 

Experience

 

  • Must have experience in sales coaching and training, donor management, fundraising, grant writing and research, community outreach, and resource development.

  • Proven experience in fundraising development, or related roles, preferably in the nonprofit sector.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and cultivate donor relationships.

  • Exceptional writing skills to create compelling grant proposals and donor communications.

  • Familiarity with fundraising software and donor management systems. 

  • A passion for the mission and values of Honeypot Montessori.
